EURO-MIT STAAL B.V. (EMS) is specialized in slitting wide coils of thin gauge plate material to narrow sized smaller coils. The services are performed to the customer’s requirements on a just in time basis. EMS became operational in 1992 and is located in Vlissingen, The Netherlands. EMS premises are at a distance of about 500 yards from the Western Scheldt river quayside where the majority of the materials is discharged from seagoing vessels. The processed material is distributed from Vlissingen mainly by road throughout Europe.
EURO-MIT STAAL B.V.’s main line of business is to process the higher grades of electrical steel for the transformer industry in Europe. This thin gauge material is slit down to size, both widthways and lengthways, into coils again. However from October 2012 EMS is able to cut these coils into laminations (sheets), of customer-specific lengths and shapes. This means that EMS’ customers will no longer need to cut down the coils into laminations themselves. They can now start the core building immediately upon receiving the products from EMS.
That is again added value EMS is providing!
In addition EMS has found opportunities to also slit a diverse range of thin gauge products, such as coated/laminated steel, tinplate and stainless steel.
